Human Development Foundation

HDF is a national non-religious, non-ethnic non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 2000 by a group of professional Liberians from various educational backgrounds with high expertise in project management. The organization was incorporated into civil society in 2001 by the Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. HDF has also been accredited by the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning to function as a non-governmental organization in several thematic areas such as advocacy; civil and voter education; training; human rights; gender; education; health; water; sanitation; food security; agriculture; hygiene; environment; and governance. Since 9 August 2013, HDF renewed its business certificate, issued by the Liberia Business Registry (LBR), to offer NGOs support in financial sustainability.
